My bloggy friend Elfie has some great, new magazine scans of Robert Pattinson's early days as a model over at her blog. Well, the magazines aren't new, they're actually from 2002/2003, but I had never seen any of these pics before, so I'll post them. 15 year old Rob in Bliss magazine (click to enlarge): Robert's modeling career only lasted for a couple of years, though. In December 2008, Rob explained:
"When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modeling career.” [Source]
US Weekly has 40(!!) new photoshoot outtakes of Rob. See them all HERE! You may want to sit down (if you're not already doing so) before scrolling further down this page. Oh, and don't forget to breathe.
The July 20 issue of Us Weekly features these outtakes from a photoshoot with Rolling Stones last November: Is it getting hot in here? If your answer to that is no, I feel sorry for ya. You're missing out, big time. For scans of the magazine and more pics, check out the gallery at Twilight Poison!
If you don't already know when Robert was born, where he grew up, how old he was when he started taking piano lessons and how his acting career started, then shame on you be sure to check out this video posted two days ago at Clevver TV!:
What with our two previous blog entries and all, I just had to let you know of this campaign: Letmesign.com, a Robert Pattinson fansite, has started a new campaign titled Respect Me. LMS writes:
RESPECT ME is a campaign to make everyone RESPECT ROBERT PATTINSON.
Recently after the excess of Twilight, Rob has been stalked by the paparazziA few days ago he was literally attacked by crazy, wild fans during the first day filming on the set of “Remember Me”.He didn’t need bodyguards before, but now because of crazy fans he HAS to have them. So, we are really really tired and mad with those girls, the media and fansites that have been publishing things about his PRIVATE life and/or stalking him everywhere he goes. [...]
Wanna help us?
If you wanna help us is very easy to do! Just save one or many of our banners, avatars and buttons and paste it on your blog, fansite, website, livejournal, fotolog, etc with a link back to this page:http://letmesign.com/respectme so the people can see this and help us to spread the word!
So everyone; spread the word and join the campagin. And for God's sake, don't ever become one of those crazy fangirls!
Rob has been a heart throb since before his "Twilight" days, but since filming the first movie in the saga there seems to have been an upswing in the passion of his "followers".
Although most of the fans claim to be supporters of his acting, there are a select few that have taken this infatuation to another level. In another post we showed you the mob scene caused on the streets of New York City as Rob left the set of his new film "Remember Me", but there has been another incident reported as Rob was leaving a book store.
Apparently fans were approaching him and getting rowdy so his body guards hurried him across the street but as they did he was grazed by an on coming taxi cab. Pattinson stepped back stunned and I can only imagine the thoughts going through his head. One of his bodyguards turned around to the crowd of excited teens and shouted "Do you see what you've done? You've almost killed him!". As an inspired Rob supporter, I do not appreciate the die hard fans that almost seem insane ruining the name of all fans.
As Rob leaves the set of his new movie "Remember Me" he is accosted by a swarm of admiring, but overwhelming fans. In my opinion this is just taking things too far. His body guards had to hustle him two and a half blocks through Manhattan, poor guy. We all love and support Rob, but this is just wrong. -AlisonRosalie
Robert Pattinson talks Edward, New Moon and how he's dealing with his newly found fame in an interview with Metro News. Excerpt: Were you surprised that Twilight became such a phenomenon?
It never ever fails to shock me. Even here. Yesterday, there were 300 people outside the set. It’s just crazy. Every day, every single person I meet knows someone who has a very strong attachment to the books. It’s very difficult to put your head around. I can go through customs at any airport in the world — every customs agent is like, ‘Can I get an autograph for my daughter?’ Every single time! It’s crazy! I just hope it doesn’t change the way I think and stuff.
MTV News just posted another article and video from a backstage interview from the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday. Robert tells MTV he actually hadn't seen the New Moon trailer before the show, and that from what he has seen, NM looks "amazing." Excerpt:
When RPattz wasn't getting faked out by Kristen Stewart, hit on by Jim Carrey or talking about whatever was in his pants, he took a moment to give a backstage interview to MTV News during the show.
MTV: Rob, you won Best Fight tonight. How did it feel up there on stage?" Robert Pattinson: It made me feel really tough; really hard. I don't think I've ever won a fight in my life, so it was cool.
MTV: We're about to debut the "New Moon" trailer. Give us your reaction to it. Pattinson: I haven't seen it yet. MTV: You haven't? Pattinson: This will be my first time seeing it. MTV: Well, I'm sure you've seen the 15-second preview online, where you're kissing Kristen, right? Pattinson: I haven't seen anything! I mean, from what I've seen from playback and stuff when I've been shooting it, it looks amazing. So I think ["New Moon"] should be [good]. I'm keeping it as a surprise from myself.
Congratulations to the Twilight cast, and Catherine and Stephenie and all of you who made Twilight the best movie of the year! Here are some clips from the MTV movie awards; most memorable moments (according to me, that is):
The Golden Popcorn
Kristen wins best female performance and drops her golden popcorn (haha. She's awesome). Congrats, girl!
Twilight = Best Movie
Twilight wins best movie award!! Sqeee!
Cam "Gigngiget"
Rob and Cam Gigandet for best fight scene. Oh my Edward, I'm still LMAO and it's the fourth time I watch this. "...And Cam Gigngiget for Twilight!" It's Gigandet! Gigandet. Hilarious.
Robert!!
Rob. Seriously. What's up with the pants? Haaha. We love you though, congrats, congrats!!!
The kiss
MTV says: Robert Pattinson ditches his gum and braces himself for a super-steamy kiss with Kristen Stewart, only to have his Twilight co-star duck out and reject him. Guess she only came for the Golden Popcorn! I say: I don't even see how this is possible. Kristen, what's wrong with you? Oh, and congrats once again. Definitely the best kiss of the whole freakin' history of films.
Here's a video from the MTV Movie Awards last year, and an excerpt from a new article from MTV.
'Twilight': From Unkown to Superstars
VENICE, California — One year ago, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and a handful of other "Twilight" stars arrived at the MTV Movie Awards and walked down the red carpet, with most of the world's press uninterested in speaking with them. In fact, they had to go back to the beginning of the carpet and start again, just so they could be properly introduced to those who didn't realize they were movie stars. Luckily, MTV had caught the "Twilight" bug early, eagerly did some exclusive interviews with the actors on the carpet and were proud to use the occasion as their coming-out party.
This Sunday night, Rob, Kristen, Kellan, Ashley, Cam, Taylor and others will return to Universal's Gibson Amphitheatre triumphantly, leading the evening's attendees with seven nominations.
Robert Pattinson, who arrived in Italy today for the shooting of the New Moon Italy scenes next week, confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that he'll play our beloved Edward Cullen in the forth Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn, as well. However, it's not yet decided when the filming of BD will take place, due to Rob's busy schedule.
From The Hollywood Reporter: CANNES -- Robert Pattinson, who shot to stardom in "Twilight" and is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book "Breaking Dawn."
Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn't know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor's jam-packed shooting schedule.
Robert talks about Little Ashes, being a heart-throb, dating, and why he was embarrassed about auditioning for Twilight in this week's Look Magazine UK.
Excerpt from the interview:
...How does it feel to be a heart-throb? Scary, because you women are notoriously flippant in your affection for celebs! [Laughs] The other thing is that Twilight fans are very loyal to the book and to [author] Stephenie Meyer. And I got a 100 per cent negative reaction when I got cast. I kind of expected it though. Really? Because of your looks? The Edward in the book is like an enigma of everything that's perfect about a man. It's like "He walked in to a room and it hurts to see how beautiful he is." It's just kind of embarrassing. I just couldn't figure out a way to act perfect. I felt like an idiot going to the audition - even having the gall to go in means you're a bit of an arrogant prick. Who could possibly play it apart from Zach Efron? [Laughs] How are the fans different to when you played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter? I mean, Harry Potter, people liked the characters, but they don't want to sleep with them. And I guess it kind of adds a different intensity to it, which I still haven't got my head around.
Haha, well, I guess we've heard most of it before, though the part about Zach Efron really made me laugh. In the interview, Rob also admits to being scared of flying, cabs, and driving in his death trap-car. To read the rest of it, click to enlarge the scans above.
Thanks toelfiefor scanning this and blogging about it!
Tomorrow is the big day! Mark your calendars all Norwegian twi-fans! The Twilight DVD is finally being released here in Norway April 29. I'm really excited, and though I'm not going to attend any twilight DVD release parties I'll definitely go buy the DVD first thing tomorrow. Yesterday, a video of Robert Pattinson greeting the Norwegian Twilight fans was circulating the net and posted on every twilight blog I read, so of course, considering the fact that I'm a Norwegian and all, I have to post it here as well. *Squee* Rob know's there are twilight fans in Norway as well!
Okay, I still haven't actually heard what he's saying since I'm having issues with the sound on my computer. All I can make out is "..I'm Robert Pattinson" (right..?), so would anyone please be so kind and tell me what he is saying? I think he looks a bit tired though, poor guy. I'm sure all the promoting stuff can be quite exhausting (or just plain boring). Anyway, the important thing is; he knows the Norwegian twilight fans exists, which includes me. Haha :D
For those of you who are not Norwegian (which I guess is the majority of people reading this blog), let me just tell you that Twilight is huge here as well. All four books are bestsellers, both the English version and the Norwegian translations (though Breaking Dawn has yet not been translated), and the movie was a success as well. But the twilight madness is, obviously, way bigger in the US, a country of 306 million people, than in Norway, with a population of only 4,7 million.
From all Norwegian Twilight fans; Rob, we love you. You did an amazing job bringing Edward to life in Twilight. Thank you for the greeting, whatever you said, it was really nice. Good luck with any upcoming movies, especially New Moon!
..Oh, and yeah, if you're ever in Norway, Rob, give me a call!
Update (a few hours later): I got the sound working! Lol.
